Wilmington’s bike plan, Moving Us Forward: A Plan for Biking in the City of Wilmington, provides specific recommendations regarding the types of bike infrastructure to be installed in different parts of the City, and the prioritization of projects. This bike plan was completed in the summer of 2019, and replaced the City’s first bike plan, from 2008.
As part of the process to develop the bike plan and think critically about implementation, the Planning staff studied five potential bike infrastructure projects in greater detail. Conceptual designs for these five corridors were developed. The bike plan references these corridor concepts, which are available in their entirety as a separate report.
As part of the research to develop Wilmington’s 2019 Bike Plan, a public survey was conducted on to learn about people’s transportation habits and preferences. Due to the amount of data collected, it was not possible to include the raw survey data in the bike plan. Instead, the anonymous data is available for download in Excel format.
