Vacuum Sweep Collection October 14 to December 20, 2024
- Large piles of leaves should be swept into the street, next to the curb.
- City sweeper or vacuum trucks will collect the leaves from the street.
- When possible, street cleaning will post signage the day before for large volume leaf pick-up.
- Not all city streets can accommodate leaf vacuum services. In those cases, leaves should be placed into brown PAPER BAGS and placed for curbside collection on scheduled recycle days.

Private Contractors
If you use a private contractor to remove leaves from your property, please coordinate your leaf removal in accordance with this schedule or have your contractor bag your leaves in brown PAPER BAGS and place at the curb for pick-up on scheduled recycle days.

Year-Round Yard Waste Curbside Collection Reminder
All leaves and yard waste should be placed in brown PAPER BAGS and placed next to the curb for pick-up on scheduled recycle days.
Special Pick-up
Special Pick-up is required for items exceeding 50 pounds or items unable to fit in trash cans. Call the Public Works Call Center at (302) 576-2620 to schedule a special pickup. Such items may include mattresses, furniture, appliances (refrigerator doors must be removed), rugs, and clothes.

Inclement Weather
From November 15 to March 15, sanitation workers do not make collections in bad weather. If your collection is canceled as a result, it will be made the following day if weather permits.
Holidays
If a collection day falls on a holiday, pick-up will occur on the next leaf collection day.
