From its inception, the Civil Rights Commission met on the first Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. During their August 28, 2023, meeting to introduce new Commissioners, the Commission changed the schedule to the first Monday of the month at 12:00 p.m. with virtual meetings along with anchor locations to comply with FOIA. The public is invited to participate using the meeting link included in the agenda.

About the Commission

Wilmington Civil Rights Commission addresses issues of allegedly discriminatory treatment on the basis of sexual orientation, race, age, religion, gender, gender identity, physical or mental disability, marital status, national origin, or economic or family status (including source of income) resulting from the delivery or provision of City government services or the implementation or effect of City policies.

Rules of the Civil Rights Commission

MEMBERS

The Civil Rights Commission is composed of seven residents who represent the many ethnic groups in the city, without regard to sexual orientation, race, age, religion, gender, gender identity, physical or mental disability, marital status, color, national origin, or economic or family status (including source of income).
