The Wilmington Police Department has announced the launch of a new initiative to address unmet social service and public health needs in Wilmington neighborhoods.

On Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m., Wilmington Police officers will conduct Community Outreach Walks that will take place at different locations in the City each week. Officers are joined by social service and public health providers, including our core partners:

• Community Partner Support Unit Impact Team based at the Winder Laird Porter State Service Center
• Porter Center Public Health Clinic
• DHSS NCC Mobile Health Unit
• Delaware Community Response Teams
• Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families, Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health
• WPD Youth Response Unit
• Westside Family Healthcare
• Henrietta Johnson Medical Center
