MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

It is understood by undersigned that the investigation of a complaint by the Officer of Professional Standards of the Wilmington Department of Police will have no bearing on any criminal charges or civil actions before any judicial body.

The Office of Professional Standards' investigation is an administrative procedure that examines the conduct of the Wilmington Police Officers for compliance with Departmental Standards of Conduct. No evidence gathered in direct relation to this investigation will be offered into any judicial proceeding, either for or against the complainant.

If there are criminal charges currently pending against the complainant by any police agency, this office reserves the right to withhold the results of the investigation, until those charges are resolved.
