The Wilmington Police Department offers organizations, community groups and individuals with the opportunity to hire off-duty police officers to provide security and public safety services during events and gatherings, as well as at locations like businesses and construction sites. 

In 2024, the City of Wilmington contracted with Extra Duty Solutions to administer our department's Extra Duty Jobs program.
