Guiding the efforts of economic development for Wilmington.

The Office of Economic Development has worked in coordination with New Castle County to develop a comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Action Plan for the city. This plan is broken down into three parts.

• SWOT Analysis

The first part is a SWOT Analysis that identifies the city's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

• Target Industry Report

The second part is a Target Industry Report that identifies target clusters and industry sectors that should form the basis of the City’s business development efforts over the next three to five years.

• Economic Development Strategic Action Plan

The final part is the Economic Development Strategic Action Plan that includes detailed recommendations and components for the city to consider implementing in order to improve our economic outlook. The plan was adopted by City Council on June 4, 2015 (Resolution 15-032).
