Recycling Collection for East of I-95 Today, West of I-95 Tomorrow

City of Wilmington government offices were closed on Monday, October 22 in observance of Veteran’s Day*; as a result, sanitation crews will collect recyclables on a modified holiday schedule the week of October 22nd:

RECYCLABLES will NOT be collected on Monday, October 22; instead, recyclables will be collected on Tuesday, October 23 for homes EAST of I-95, and Wednesday, October 24 for homes WEST of I-95.

Trash will be collected as normally scheduled (Thursday EAST of I-95 and Friday WEST of I-95).

*The City of Wilmington’s decision to observe Veteran’s Day in October instead of November (the official national observation date) was the result of holiday negotiations with City unions many years ago. The City will be open for business on Monday, November 12—the date most other organizations will observe Veteran’s Day.
