The Wilmington Police Department is pleased to invite you and your family and friends to support the Special Olympics Program through a local fundraiser known as “COPS & CRABS and Tip-A-Cop” this Thursday, August 9 at Joe’s Crab Shack on Wilmington’s Riverfront. When you dine at Joe’s Crab Shack this Thursday and present the attached flyer, 10% of the cost of your meal will be donated to Special Olympics Delaware. Off-duty City police officers will also wait tables that evening and donate all tips to the cause. For every tip, patrons will receive one free ticket to a Wilmington Blue Rocks game (while supplies last).
Again, please present the attached flyer to your server this Thursday, August 9 to ensure that your purchase is credited to the Special Olympics. “COPS & CRABS and Tip-A-Cop” will take place between 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for dinner.
The Special Olympics was founded in 1968. Through the power of sports, the Special Olympics seeks to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
