Due to this weekend’s extreme heat conditions, Wilmington Mayor James Baker and Parks and Recreation Director Romain Alexander said the City will extend the operating hours of all of its outdoor pools as well as its water spray parks through Sunday evening (July 8).

All outdoor pools (Prices Run, Eden, and Foster Brown) will be open from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8. In addition, Prices Run pool will be open until 8 p.m. tonight (Friday, July 6).

The City’s six water spray parks will stay open from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. (instead of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) through Sunday at Father Tucker Field (9th and Lincoln Streets); Woodlawn Park (4th and Ferris Streets); Helen Chambers Park (6th and Madison Streets); Brown Park (8th Avenue and Duncan Street); Judy Johnson Park (3rd and Clayton); and Eastlake Playground (30th and Madison Streets).
