Wilmington Mayor James M. Baker welcomed a new business to Downtown Wilmington today by hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Isabella G Fine Accessories and Apparel—a boutique clothing store at 300 West 9th Street.

Isabella G is owned and operated by life-long Wilmingtonian Susie Grimes—a resident of the City’s East Side who is fulfilling her dream of owning a fashion-forward clothing and accessories business.

“I’ve always had a flair for fashion and love affair with shopping, but I was always afraid to leave the security of a full-time job,” said Grimes. “But with all the exciting changes taking place in the Downtown Business District, I figured now was the perfect time to follow my heart and take a chance on launching my business.”

Isabella G specializes in contemporary urban fashions for women. The boutique’s merchandise includes stylish women’s clothing and accessories, handbags, hats, jewelry, unique gift items, and bath/body products.

“Isabella G offers items not available in other Downtown Wilmington stores,” said Grimes. “I only stock a limited supply of merchandise, so you can be certain that you won’t see duplicates of what you’re wearing or carrying on other people. From evening attire to a new corporate look, we can help every shopper find something appropriate and affordable.”

Isabella G Fine Accessories and Apparel is open Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and by appointment on Saturdays.
